The indoor arena provides a covered area protected from the elements providing visitors with a comfortable area to watch show jumping events at any time of the year. The Centre’s three day, show jumping festival is the high point of its event calendar and takes place each year in the first week of June. Located about an hour’s drive from Castle Varagh Hotel, the water park features award winning floating slides, rockers and challenges that are suitable for all ages and abilities. Bring a picnic or grab a coffee at the BayCafe to refuel after an action-packed water adventure.
The Park features a special nature reserve, a sensory butterfly garden, an “Art in the Park” collaborative project between local school students and established artists, Irish music traditions, a picnic area and playground, and a fascinating insight into how Irish rural communities lived in the past.
A raised bog that is rare in Europe, Girley Bog has been developed as a six-kilometre looped eco-walk (with a shorter internal walk of 1.5 kilometres) that meanders through forest and bogland, revealing a vast array of birds, plants and wildlife. Girley Bog is an EU Life Site situated a half hour drive from Castle Varagh Hotel on the N52.
